Radiant-by Cozy Quilt Design- It's a blocky, 3-D effect
Labyrinth-Debby Maddy-No Y seams- Nice intertwine effect
They were both recommended as something that my 30 year-old son would like. They look complicated, but I hear that they are both easy. I don't know what I am waiting for!

That's three Labyrinths. I'm ready to start, and the second poster has started. Let's do them together. I've switched two fabrics again so I need to just start cutting.

I bought the Quiltmakers 1000 pattern book2 months ago. I just love to look through that book. Other than that I get my ideas off pintrest or here and create them from pics. I only buy row by row quilt kits. I'm about ready to buy a finishing kit for a few row by row kits. I want to make it and hang on my living room wall. I figure it will take me 2 years to make.

Sticks and Stones, its a really easy pattern that uses 2 1/2" strips and 2 1/2" squares. I didn't put the border on mine, it would have made it too large.

I bought two last week for workshop classes with Gyleen Fitzgerald. Going in Circles and Play Modern. http://www.colourfulstitches.com/workshops.html She is a great teacher. Below is my take on Play Modern still a work in progress.

I think buying the pattern is much easier. Why reinvent the wheel, it's right there ready to be used. I draft patterns when I want an original or tweak an existing one. Unless I really enjoyed drafting from a picture I won't waste what time I have left trying to save a few dollars not buying a quilt pattern.
