Default Need quilting ideas - Christmas quilt

I could use some inspiration for quilting this top. The pattern is "all wrapped up" - with a different layout, obviously. I would really like to custom quilt it, but I'm drawing a blank. Cop out will be to quilt an overall pantograph in something Christmassy, but hoping someone here has a better idea. Thanks in advance.

Beautiful quilt!! Do you LA or DSM or hand quilt? I use a DSM and I think I would do straight lines on the boxes and something wavy or swirly in the background.
Oh wait! you said pantograph, so LA right?

i'd just SID around the presents/tree and do a tight background--if you use a poly or a wool bat it will really make the tree/presents 'pop"

Some kind of swirls around the tree and simple SIND on presents. Cute layout!

I should have included more info. I am a long arm quilter. I'd rather avoid SITD/straight lines if possible, simply because it's not my favourite thing to do. Swirly background (or loops and stars) is what I was thinking too. But what to do in the presents/tree?

Cute top! I like the idea of swirls and stars in the background and maybe a star in each of the 4 squares in each box. Swirls and snowflakes would be good in the background also and a snowflake in the the squares. I might just SITD the ribbon on the boxes.

SITD on the gifts, and freehand holly leaves with berries all around it. Holly leaves are easy because they are pointed at the tip and bottom, then have two other points on each side. They can be long and thin, short and squat, even crooked and they look natural and pretty. I usually connect them with a short curvy line or spread them out with loopy curved lines.

JustAbitCrazy, I like the Holly leaves idea. I would use a different color thread for that though. If SITD is not your fav thing, then put a big star in block, with another star in the big star, or zigzag on ribbon and a small star in each quadrant of gift. Best of Luck, hope to see it soon in the picture forum.

I agree, Gannyrosie. I'd do the holly in white thread on the white background.

What about doing the holly and berries in the presents/tree part. Then the swirling snowflakes in the background.
