Default Passing it on

Last week my son complained about his modern machine not liking to do heavy jobs. Hehe, I've been waiting for that. He will soon have my Homestead. 15 clone. I bought it in the 70s so I could learn to sew. Mom loved it and commandeered it. She has passed now and I will give it to her grandson. This will be his first excursion into vintage machines. Hmmm, maybe I better get a 15-91 ready if this isn't tough enough.

Good looking machine. I love the story of it being passed down through the generations.

Nice machine! Neat that you have this chance to pass the machine to your son.

I think it is neat when machines stay in the family.

What is he sewing that is heavier?

Best feeling to hand down (or receive) a beloved sewing machine, especially when the "need" is felt already.

He is entering a new world, just sit back and watch!

That's how I turned to vintage sewing machines too. I was disgusted that ever modern machine I had each died after a few years, one after only ten projects! Granted they were all Wal-Mart machines, but now I know I can get a machine that will last me all my life and more for the same money.
