Default Optical Illusion quilt - layout options

Hello to all my wonderful quilting board friends who give me such great advice!

I'm working on this 3-d quilt - it's quite easy, but I need some advice!

First question - should all the cubes be on the quilt, or does it look ok with some of them going onto the border (which of course I will put on afterwards!)

Second question - are the big and middle squares too big? I can certainly cut them down a bit.

Thanks in advance for all the suggestions, because I already know they will be helpful!

Have a great evening,

Marion

Since the squares are tumbling through space maybe they could be placed more randomly. Not alaways 4 or placed less symmetrically. I like it spilling into the border. It looks cool.

I think into the border it looks to cramped w/ them all inside, and I think you will get a more "coming at you" feeling if they are tumbling outside the border.

I prefer the first option, it appears the blocks are coming out of the centre or being drawn into it, the block sizes look right.

I don't think any of the squares are too big. I like the first layout, but I would put a couple of the outer blocks closer together so the blocks are not all equally spaced on the top. Awesome quilt you are making!

I like me them on the border, but would arrange them more randomly, they look a bit too symmetrical for me, but that’s only my opinion. It’s going to beautiful which ever way you decide.

I think the first picture looks great..but it looks as if all your blocks are facing just about the same way. I would rotate them a bit to make them even more random. I really envy people who have brains that can design like that
