Hi Maggie8801, I've also heard that about the wandering foot block as well as wandering ways. but no other superstitions. I bet there's a book out there about quilt blocks and meanings, superstitions, etc. thought provoking question for sure!

I have heard about some - but if I really liked the block - I would just give it another name - or find another name for it - and ignore the superstition.

I recall in the Elm Creek Quilts books that a number of quilt names had associations with superstitions, such as the wandering foot. I think that referred to a Drunkard’s Path pattern.
