They reminded me of the feed sack prints of the 30's and 40's my DM used to make things from.

If you don't like it - give it away. Why aggravate yourself?? I'm finally doing that myself. I no longer take or keep fabric that doesn't make me feel ok/good/happy or that I wouldn't use. Life's too short.

I make ministry quilts for people who are suffering in some way. The expense is all mine (which I consider a blessing) and I think the fabric is nice. Yes, I would be willing to pay postage if you want it out of your sight!!

I liked the mock up block you made. But, totally respected your decision to "toss" the fabric. Why spend time and money on a quilt that is not going to make it. Or that will fade quickly into dust.

That being said, I bought a bunch of that exact fabric once.(It was from China.) I was curious. I actually liked the small prints. I washed one piece because the fabric felt off. It faded badly. I decided to put the test piece in the bag (I marked it.) with all the rest of the fabric squares and donated it to a thrift store. I just didn't want to gift a quilt that would fade badly. I decided to let someone else decide if they wanted to try and use it.

Doesn't anyone realize she said it was bad quality fabric? Really you would use bad quality because it was free?

Guess we all missed that part, fruitloop, since we were mesmerized by the "morning sickness" colors LOL.

Eye of the beholder for sure, I loved them and see them in a fantastic scrap quilt, the type that is happy & cheerful, fun to take on picnics.

I gotta say - I don't think they are ugly at all but, if as you say, quality is awful then I guess your decision to trash them was the right one.

Wish l lived closer, Libits, I'd gladly send you a prepaid , preaddressed shipping envelope! But l live in Ontario, Canada. Those squares would be a blessing for others who also make quilts for hospice, hospitals and nursing homes as l do.
