Default Electronic Wireless Cutting Machines

Okay, I don't really know what they are called, but I want to create applique in my Premier Plus2 software and send it to a cutting machine for the cutout and then embroider on my machine. I want to use for various designs for baby quilts etc. I am interested if any of you have experience with any of the various machines and recommendations. For example Scan n Cut, Cameo etc. It just struck me yesterday that I might want one of these machines. I already have the Accu Studio and that is not what I am talking about. Thanks!

I recently watched this video on youtube that is describing what you are talking about. This is Becky of Power Tools with Thread. here is the link to the tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbZAiwXKZpk I don't have a cutting machine so I don't know any more about this technique, but this might get you started.

Thanks Irishgal. That was an interesting video. It is a good start to my search. I have a basic Cricut but that is not what I am searching for. Thank you Lyricgirl.

Scanncut is easy to use, no computer needed.

I have the scan-n-cut wireless. I can send the applique cut file from my EMB machine to the SNC or transfer to a USB.

Rhonda K what model do you have? You're getting closer to what I'm thinking I might be wanting.

Rhonda K What model embroidery machine do you have? Do you then applique using the embroidery machine? What I want to do is hand applique. I want to be able to use a printed or pdf pattern and separate the pieces that overlap, then turn them into svg files
for cutting with my cricut. I know I need some type of editing software for that, just don't know which one.

Hi Ladies,

I have the SNC650W but haven't used the wireless feature yet. My EMB machine is the Brother Dream with the upgrade. Some of the vendors for machine EMB designs include the cut files now.

Yes, I can cut the applique file and then EMB the design. This works well for intricate cuts. I don't enjoy fiddley tracing and cutting of applique pieces so let the machine do the work.

The video posted above by Irish girl was helpful. I watched it last night.

MD, There may be a software platform for your machine.

I wanted to add another consideration on selecting the cutting machines. The SNC machine has packages available that are Disney designs. I don't know if other machines offer them.
