The most delicious coleslaw I’ve had was served at an Amish farm. Sorry I don’t know the recipe but bits of broccoli was mixed with the shredded cabbage.

This is a vinegar dressing, holds up well in warm weather. I make it for our Martha’s Table at church. It’s called German Coleslaw
8 c finely shredded cabbage
1/2 medium size green pepper, minced
1 medium onion, finely chopped, about 1/2 cup
Place above in large bowl and toss well. Add dressing
Dressing
3 T sugar
3 T hot water
3 T vinegar
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

3 T vegetable oil

Combine sugar, and hot water, stirring until sugar dissolves; stir in vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper. Pour over slaw and toss well: drizzle oil over and toss well again.
Cover and let marinate in refrigerator 2 to 3 hours before serving.
Stir together before serving
