I've got a wooden quilt hanger that's a pair of finished boards that clamp together to hold the quilt. It's pretty, but a pain to hang on the wall, and to change out quilts.

I have two "Hang it Dang it"s that I really like, but I need something big for my latest two quilts. Large (63 to 104") HIDIs are hard to find and correspondingly expensive.

What's your favorite way to hang large quilts? Thanks!

Curtain rod and decorative brackets.

I had DH install a double curtain rod in my bedroom for quilts. I use the rings with clips to hang the quilts. I can use clothes hangers to hold smaller projects as needed.

I use Invisible Magnetic Quilt Hangers. They come 5 in a package, not inexpensive, but by far the best hanging method I’ve ever used. I have 4 magnets on my dining room wall and hang large quilts on a metal curtain rod. My son can hang a quilt in just a minute.

I have that same board and clamp system in my long arm area and never use it--too hard to use (now I know why it was in our guild garage sale so cheap!). What I've done is use nice cording and hang a nice curtain rod from the 3 knobs on it and use clips to hand the quilts. I have curtain rods in 3 bedrooms and another one in the basement to hand quilts on.

I'm going to try this. It doesn't look hard and it sure is cheaper than buying the kits.

Thank you! I saw a similar method a while ago, but couldn't find any links. I have tried to avoid having to sew the hanging sleeve to the back, but it really shouldn't take that long and seems very much worth the time with this method.

I bought a beautiful wooden quilt hanger with a shelf at a thrift store for $10. I brought it home and cleaned it up and I and my DH hung it up. It has a dowel that I can hang my quilt on and I don't have to put a sleeve on the back of the quilt.

I use old sewing machine needles. They are as strong as nails, yet do no damage to the quilt. Easy to do and makes use of something that would otherwise be thrown away.
