Janice great flimsy

unfortunately it’s my package this time that is lost in the mail.. I chatted with Janice last night and I will be washing, cutting, ironing and bagging up different fabric to send. Hoping to get that all done today. Main problem is cutting fabric into fat 1/8’s very little counter space here but betting hubby will come up with a way to raise the heights of outside table. Sorry I am holding up the show

Terriamn, don’t fret about holding up the show! You shipped in plenty of time so you did your part. It might turn up yet! I hope you find an easy way to cut your new fabric.

You can always do it the old fashioned way. Just snip the edge and rip the fabric. I am old enough to remember when this is how fabric stores cut your fabric. You do need to start out slightly larger since the fabric will tear on the grain.

Great point, Bibliostone. I usually rip for long lengthwise sashings but trim the edges if they pucker a bit.

Biblistone, that totally freaks me out on limited amounts of fabric. So afraid it won’t rip evenly. Second fabric has been washed and hanging on the clothes line to dry.

Terri, the hold up is not your fault. The PO does this to us just about every time. Obviously that latest hike in rates had nothing to do with getting better service.

It will show up!

That’s my hope, too. It’ll show up the minute her new fabric is in the mail!

I think I better slow down, I might need some of this fabric for binding. But I have one more done, totally hand sewn, (my preferred way). It’s a Cleopatra’s Fan. Janice opened up those older booms and I saw a Hunter’s Star in there, which I have in Inklingo but it’s only 9”. So I’m trying to get it to 12 1/2 without borders but don’t think it will happen. And I ran out of printed pieces so I put it on the back burner.

I don’t know if we have any new boomers, but today I was reminded that as a new boomer I was worried about others seeing the backs of my (their) blocks. But when doing small pieces ironing becomes very important and helps keep things in order on the backside. I’ve included the backside of Cleopatra just to show you how all you seasoned veterans have helped me!!

GramE, your blocks are always beautiful! And you’re brave to show the back. It looks good to me, especially considering all those pieces.

Oops, I’ve already gotten behind posting blocks. I’ll do it now.
