I bought a Janome DC2011 about 12 years ago and am now helping a friend buy a new machine. When I was buying a machine back then I remember there being several Janomes in my price range ($300-$600) and I had a hard time deciding which to go with. But now I’m looking at their website and there are only 9 machines ranging from $3,800-$20,000. This is disappointing. I like this brand but $3,800 is way more than she can afford and probably has features she’ll never use. Does Janome no longer make regular old sewing machines?
Edited to add - I just found what I wanted on the Janome website. Looks like I didn’t check the “category” field. Tried to delete this post but I guess I can’t, so I’m editing.

I'm currently using my oldest Jarome machine called Harmony 8080, it must be 30 years old and sews like a dream. I have two other Janome machines and both of them are in the shop. If this Harmony 8080 is still available I'd happily suggest it...such a workhorse and does everything I need it to. Mine cost around $289 way back then.

Click the dropdown to filter by "Sewing" and you'll get at least 10 pages of machines.
ETA - even that is finicky. If you search, say, for 5mm machines then want to go back and search 7mm ones, you have to undo the 5mm first, then go back to the first page of search results, then click 7mm. And their filter doesn't allow you to see straight stitch-only models unless you view all machines.
It might be easier to use a retailer's site (Ken's, Pocono, etc.) to shop for available models.

I just bought 2 Janome machines from a dealer in my state. When I was shopping, I found that most Janome dealer prices are up to 40% less than the Janome official website. I also found that dealers can offer their own additional discounts or bonus packages. You can check this Janome August Specials Flyer for sales at this particular dealer (no affiliation to me).. I'm sure there are other dealers who have similar specials.

I have 4 Janomes and love them all. Have 2 middle priced machines for traveling. One stays here in Minnesota and the other stays in our home in Texas. I have my everyday miracle machine that I love and a serger that scares me to death. Also purchased my granddaughter a great little beginner machine. Can you tell I love this brand machine

Glad to see someone else has a 4800. Mine has sewn a million miles with little trouble. The only thing I wish it did is a serpentine stitch that I see some use instead of stitch in the ditch/or nearly. Thing is--they keep adding stuff as a sales gimmick when most of us use basic stitches and want them to work with dependable success!

I'm a big Janome fan! I have a 6600, which is a workhorse, a 9900 that embroiders and a 7100 that I take to sew days. I love them all. My friend just purchased a top of the line Janome that sews, does machine embroidery and can free motion quilt! I can't wait to see it.
