This is a Disappearing 9 Patch quilt I made for my DGD 1st Birthday. I used some of the squares I received in the I Spy Block Swaps (anyone recognize their square?). And in keeping with my recent "M.O.", I had to make a little quilt for her favorite stuffed dog too. I was determined to use fabric from my stash for this project and not buy more, so for the backing I added strips of coordinating fabric to enlarge the backing piece enough so it would fit. Of course, the little quilt had to match. :)

That is really cute. I love the patter and the way you put the colors together.

They are both adorable, what a cute idea to make one for her stuffed dog.

That is really cute, and the matching one for her doggie! I never thought of doing a d9p as an I Spy, cool idea!

I have to admit that I am not usually a big fan of DP9 quilts. But I absolutely love this pattern with the “I spy” fabrics. I think the fact that you chose lighter colors for background, really makes the fabrics pop. Do you mind telling me the placement of the original nine patch block? I may make my I spy this way!!

Thanks!
Rachel

Absolutely adorable! Wonderful quilts! I would also be interested in knowing how the nine patch started. Thanks for sharing--your quilts made my day!
