My school allows us to have a hot pot in our dorm room.

What in the world is a hot pot and what in the world do I make in it?

Please and thank you! :D

I would think that they are talking about a pot that has an electrical corn and can heat things up, soup, water, etc... I could be wrong, but that is what it sounds like.

When I googled Hot Pot it talks mostly about about Chinese cooking .

The one picture it looks like a slow cooker or crock pot . I would recommend you contact the school to clarify

I was looking on amazon... and a lot of people say they boil water, cook things, and what not... might not be bad to have... but I'm still not entirely sure.

Hot pots are small coffee pots with a cord that you can plug in. They can be used for coffee, water for hot cocoa, soup, canned veggies, etc. You cant do baking of anything like that but if you need hot water for anything, they are wonderful and usually heat up in about 3 minutes. Great for top ramen noodles!

Are they talking about a hot plate? I have one, just a one burner cooker. You could make things like mac and cheese, ramen noodles, ect. College food, lol!

Not allowed to have anything with exposed coils... so hot pots, crock pots, and coffee makers are alright...

I'm going to get one, unless I end up in a dorm with the kitchenettes on each floor.

My daughter had one and she made soups, ramen noodles, and any food she wanted warmed up. It came in handy after dining hall hours were over or late at night if she got hungry.
