I need to buy a new vacuum and am replacing the Amway CS1000. Any suggestions...I mostly have wood floors with a few area rugs.

You can't beat an Oreck.

Check out the Ricar's much like Oreck but more powerful!! Made in USA, Missouri, as a matter....prefer to purchase that way when possible especially when the product is better if not superior quality. Check them out.

I got a Dyson Slim that I absolutely love. easy to move around and easy to clean. Sure beats the heavy Dirt Devil I have at my other house.

I love my Oreck. I vaccum 3 levels with carpeted stairs and my Oreck is so light I have no problem using it on the stairs. It also has great "pickup" power.
