Default Background Quilting

I have some rather extensive background quilting to do on my horse quilt and I'm wondering what you think is the least noticeable pattern for background quilting?

I just want the background to recede.

Micro-quilting meander? Meander? Something else? Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks, Watson

Any tight pattern will make the background recede and the horse pop out but that’s a lot of work. Perhaps tiny square crosshatch ( to mimic the ceramic tiles) of the original mosaic?

I like tiny circles and they make the background recede.

or matchstick quilting--but I think the small pebbling would work better.
