William and I manage a storage facility...and we allow the Sheriff's dept. to train their K-9 sniffers here. Today, there are cop cars EVERYWHERE on these 10 acres, they're doing a state training, and we'll have about 40 dogs running around sniffing everything! :)

These are such neat dogs...the trainers tell us that the dogs are playing a game...even what they refer to as the "perp dogs" (the dogs that chase down offenders and knock them down) are just playing games. It's hide and seek to the dog, and they get to play with a favorite toy when they do a good job.

We've found that it keeps drugs out of our facility, which in bigger areas has evidently become a prime choice for those that want to have a "crack kitchen"... keeps it out of their homes. Have actually had potential customers leave when they find out that we have drug dogs training here! :)

Wow---wish I was there to watch!

(and what a great idea for your business to keep drugs "gone")

OMG, I saw that on our local news up in Seattle last night. That the dogs were having a training day in Oregon! I was thinking how incredible it would be to be able to watch. (: Lucky you!! (:

That must be incredible to watch. I sure wouldn't be able to get any work done while it was going on. Does it last all day?

Athomesewing, does it make you feel like you know a celebrity because you saw it on the news and now know it is Charlee's storage facility? I think it is awesome. I am retired from FedEx and have had the pleasure of being in the same space US Customs drug dogs were 'working'. It is unforgetable, you have to see it to believe it.

I'll do my best to get some pics for you all! They're incredibly fun to watch, and the trainers love it when we try to distract the dogs! (Unless, of course, we're successful!)

Yes! It just goes to show how small a world we share, and quilters are everywhere! (:

Charlee, we will so be looking forward to the photos! (:
