I made this recipe for a charity bake sale yesterday and got a lot of positive feed back and requests for the recipe. It has only 5 ingredients, it's gluten free, egg free and doesn't require an oven to make. And I kid you not, this is the name of the recipe.

“Holy Crap! These are amazing cookies!”
(Makes about 3 dozen cookies)

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 jar (18 oz) peanut butter, crunchy or smooth (Skippy or Safeway creamy organic brand is good)
6 cups corn flakes
3 oz good quality chocolate of your choice (example: Scharffen Berger Semisweet 62%.)

Preparation:

1. Combine sugar and corn syrup in a medium saucepan. Place over medium-high heat and stir until the mixture comes to a full boil. Don’t let boil too long.
2. Remove from heat and stir in the whole jar of peanut butter. Mix well.
3. Add corn flakes to a large bowl. Pour peanut butter mixture over corn flakes and mix well, taking care to coat all of the corn flakes.
4. With a tablespoon or cookie scoop, scoop out and form into 1-2 inch balls, depending on your preference, and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
5. Put the chocolate in a small bowl and melt in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir until smooth.
6. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cookies.
7. When cooled, eat these cookies with reckless abandon. Be careful, though. We wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt!

Here's a few notes from me.

This a fast recipe and doesn't require much fuss.
Be sure to use good quality peanut butter
As soon as you have mixed the peanut butter into the sugar, pour into the large bowl containing the corn flakes and mix immediately. As the mixture cools it gets harder to combine it with the corn flakes. Be very careful, the bowl will be extremely hot while mixing it together.
You can store these in the refrigerator, but you must leave them out to warm to room temperature, otherwise they will be too tacky and stiff to eat.

this recipe looks similar to one I've made for years with the exception that we spread ours into a pan and cover with chocolate chips the peanut butter cereal mixture is still hot enough to melt chips. Once the are melted smooth the chocolate over the top. My kids love them.

Oh my gosh--peanut butter and chocolate. My two most favorite things. Can't wait to try them.

That looks great. I wonder if as Kristen says about spreading it, would you have to grease the pan.
