I don't understand (I need more infor, don't know how to work with wood) how you make the slots. Can you explain? I know you put pictures, but I don't see or understand how you made the slots between the pieces of wood. Help me!!?

How did you make the space between the wood (the slots)? Can you explain it like you are talking to a 9 year old? I know nothing about making anything with wood. But I do know how to quilt so I'm not totally incapable of learning. I just don't get it and I really want to make one. Yours is so nice. I love it. I would love to hang it on the wall. Great idea and project! I paid $24 for a board with slits cut into it and then found that some of my rulers are too thick. (Hint - be careful what you buy at quilt shows.) Yours is SOOOOO much nicer.

You are one crafty lady, great job. I went to goodwill and purchased a wooden bread slicer box for mine, works great.
I have it sitting on top of a bakers rack that holds book etc.
