Yes, I sew edge to edge. The next row is done in exactly the same way. You just one in and keep going until you get back to it.

I misinterpreted this, I think. When sewing on the other pieces, and you get to the Y, there should be 1/4 inch left on the edge so that when you turn the top hexagon, it goes right over into place. Clear as mud. That is why I took all of the pictures.

Thank you for this tutorial. I am working on a GFG for my niece who is expecting the first girl baby in our family for 16 years. I have been leaving a 1/4" on each seam, but now realize, thanks to you, that I don't have to fuss with that.

Nice job on this tutorial. You're courageous to do a GFG...they are time-consuming but worth the effort. Would love to see photo of others you have completed.

I don't press!!! That is the beauty of stitching by hand. It cuts down on all that ironing.No pressing needed because you are automaticly finger pressing as you sew.
