Yes,Patrice, you have the right source. It was a good learning experience.Your information is fabulous. Your details are right on! I wish I'd had this last year, but now I can do better with your tips. I am still learning my new machine that does 60 stitches so applique qould be great!
Thanks for your hard work on this.

Thanks Patrice...this is very timely for me...working on my new quilt that I drew out while hubby was in the hospital. Still haven't cut out the squares and hearts for the applique...too scared....so you are giving me courage along with a great how-to!! (I'm always scared to make that 1st cut...aren't you??)

1st cut ... 2nd cut ... every cut is a gamble for me.
thanks for the compliments.
to build your confidence, make practice samples and fiddle with your methods, machine settings, etc, until you're comfortable. make sure your samples include innie and outie curves, points and sharp corners. if you can't make your samples from the same materials because you haven't enough to spare, try to use things that are as close as possible.
you will do great! :P

Patrice, Thanks for the great links to the applique sights and for the many pictures of your techniques. Very helpful and really appreciated.
I love doing hand applique, as I find it very relaxing, especially when I'm not too interested in watching TV, but still want to be near hubby.
Judee, your quilt is fabulous and for your first attempt, well girl, I'm proud of you. Great job.

I love your round the block calendar quilt. I have all those block patterns that I found on a website somewhere but haven't worked them yet. Your quilt is lovely and inspires me to "GET 'ER DONE!" Thanks for sharing.

Ummm, is it too late to say thanks? It'll take me a while to get though all these links, but so far I like what I see. The funny thing is I'm learning a lot and each one opened is just as likely to teach me something as the next. How cool is that? Yay!
