OMG that is amazing! Looks great to! I don't think I have the "energy" do that much, but since I really like that little pinwheel in the center there...I just might make myself get involved in it!

I realise this tutorial was written 2 years ago, but I wanted to say a heartfelt "thank you" for this wonderful block. Right after reading the directions I sat down and sewed a test block to come up with a 9-1/2 unf. Figured if I started with 6" squares I'd be close. Just had to trim off 1/2". It really is a wonderful block. Now I just have to work at matching the center seams better.

Love your idea. Had a go with ugly awful materials and it works a treat. Made my squares 9 1/4" and made the second disappearing block measurement 1 3/4" (where you have 1 1/4") and it is easy peasy. The block is about 16" so may turn it into a shopping bag when I do the second square. Next one I make I would sew bigger seams than 1/4", .... 3/8" perhaps. Thank you very much. Cheers

What a wonderful block! Just love it. Has anyone finished a quilt using this block, I'd love to see them.

If you go to my photo bucket in my signature, in the second row, far left I made a small quilt using this block, it is amazing how it turns out, looks so hard, but it isn't.

Do you cut 1 1/4" measuring from the from the center? Or measuring from the edge? Looks like the center from the pics.
