I should pay rent at a care center this month. I'm an elementary music teacher as well as a piano teacher. So I'll make 5 visits this week to different centers in our town - 3 with guitar players and 2 with piano. Wish it wasn't just this time of year, but now is when we have appropriate music ready!

Love the video & sent it around.

Anytime is a good time to share music at the elder care home. My Mom was in one & every patient loved music....all music.

I too, have made several of these, and it does not call for batting. I also used for the main fabric, a panel that is across. It us either going to be bigger or smaller than the main fabric requirements, but it will just change your border width. I also flipped the ends the opposite way so that the panel would not be chopped off at an awkward place, so the flipped side goes to the back, and hand stitched the ends down so that the sewing line would not show through on the front side.

Sandy, Thank you for the information. I did not know who created the runner as it was something one of the ladies in our group made and showed us. It is very easy and we all made one, without a pattern, just by looking at hers.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful and creative week.

Blessings Abound,
Char

I saw that before and had forgotten about it. It sure is pretty. Thanks for the reminder.

I made one the the receiver did not want batting in it. I use interfacing instead.

The pattern I have is:
Center fabric 10"
Border fabric 20"
no batting.

I do like your sizes better as I think the wider border is more attractive. Will post my Christmas runners when they are finished and I am going to use your sizes and warm and natural batting as I like the way they look with that type of batting. thanks.

I LIKE THE BIGGER SIZE AS WELL, HAVE A PATTERN BUT LIKE THIS IDEA FOR SURE, HAVE NOT MADE IT YET BUT A GREAT GIFT IDEA FOR SURE. EVEN THOUGHT OF MAKING ONE FOR EACH SEASON AND GIVING IT AS A GIFT AT WORK AS A SET. ALSO WOULD B A NICE GIFT FOR A WEDDING, SINCE PEOPLE HAVE EVERYTHING BUT SOMETHING HOME MADE IS SO NICE AND USEFUL DONT U THINK.........ALSO, IN DOING IT IN SEASONS, WILL ALWAYS MATCH WHATEVER COLORS SOMEONE WOULD HAVE......WHAT U ALL THINK......

Yup. For all of those blocks I had to do two or three times to get the right finish size. I could make a million. :(

debbieumphress 09-19-2011 10:32 PM

Had to come back to book mark it. I forgot. Stil think it is great. Thanks for the tute.

sewbeadit 10-14-2011 12:45 AM

Thanks a bunch, gee I don't know why everyone is in such a hurry anyway, 35 mins, isn't bad.

khurtdvm 10-15-2011 06:08 PM

I'm making my first ones tonight. Love the way it looks, and glad to see how/when to put the batting in (if desired). I'm planning to put one on my piano and give the other to my best friend.

Flora Pluta 11-02-2011 11:09 AM

This is a great tut I will be making some quick holiday runners.

anniesews 11-02-2011 11:25 AM

Very nice. I will try this.

jhoward 11-02-2011 11:29 AM

I've made several of these. Rather than batting used fusible interfacing, also used batting. Please tell me how you added batting after sewing and turning? I need help doing so. Thanks for the pics!!!

craftymatt2 11-02-2011 12:09 PM

Thank you, i see gift giving in my future.
