I have 3 projects going at once and fabric everywhere. I usually buy kits because I see a quilt on a wall that I like and there is always a kit below it. So my storage is kits and usually fabric lines stacked up. I buy the FQ and JR and a layer cake and just stack them together. So, I have a different storage way of doing things. But I know I have way too much fabric and way too many kits. I think I have over 50 kits. A lot of them I will never make. I gave one away recently and a while back I mailed one to Russia. I need to give some away to make space in my room so it looks more organized. Everything is squished together.

What a great idea! I'm just now building up my stash so I can't use this idea yet but I love it! Oh and can I trade your stash for mine lol?

I think it's just a typo - I found it on the 4/27/10 post, number 28 on page 3 but can't figure out how to link it... Here's what Alaskasunshine says in that post.

"If you call a local sign shop just ask if they carry the sign material that is corrugated plastic for signs. Usually realtors have for sale signs made of this stuff. They come in 4'x8' sheets. My DH cut them up for me. If you are not able to do that they may cut them for a fee.The only thing to be careful of is making sure your lines are going the right way otherwise the bolt will fold up as you try to wrap it. I give that information on the first picture on this tutorial.
have lots of fun with this. Also if you have more questions feel free to ask away... "

That is a great way to stay organized. I would need a helper or two to get started...lol

Fabric Folding...Love It

As a beginnerquilter, I have lots of odds and ends of fabric or find remnants that I love and buy them but I have been stuffing them in white trash bags, which left them wrinkled and difficult to find. I love this idea and will have to reorganize my room. Thank you so much for the tutorial, it was fantasticly easy to understand and follow along.

The Quilting Board is just great. And there are so many quilters who share their ideas or insights like this. Again thank you so very much.

I am also a new quilter and have started using this method for storage. Also, if it doesn't fit on a bolt, it goes into color tubs, starting with shoe box size.
