Wonderful presentation, so oragnaized. I bet your sewing room is neat too!!!LOL Looking forward to the paper pieced version...aren't I just presumptious! Thank you so much for the effort you are putting into this. I am one of those non-creative persons and I applaud anyone who can sit down and figure things out!

Jammin' Jane 04-26-2011 10:58 AM

It looks so simple the way you've shown us in your tute!
You did a great job! Thank you!

snicktrain 04-26-2011 11:17 AM

QUESTION: With it being stacked and with fusible, does it make the center a little heavy?? Or do you do a reverse applique method?? I've never pped and really enjoy fusible applique. :) :) :) Also, I do LOVE your block. You make it look easy enough for me to do. Thank you. Great tut.

Farm Quilter 04-26-2011 11:18 AM

I have never paper pieced but would love to try it with this block! I usually make bed-sized quilts and wonder if the wonderunder wouldn't make the quilt a bit stiff. I don't do any applique that involves a needle, and have only made one wall-hanging that was all fusible...love that kind of applique!!!

kathy6696 04-26-2011 11:42 AM

Beautiful block , I wil be watching for the paper piecing one. Would love to try it. I have only done one pp wall hanging and like doing it. Thanks for the tutorials.

How do the fused blocks hold up to wear and washing? I am a newbie so I have no idea. I do love the block.

The floral fabric is Petals from the Past and I think it is Kaufman.

quilterguy27 05-02-2011 10:08 AM

Beautiful block. I can't wait to give it a try. I saw someone else asked about the thickness and quilting. Three layers and fusible. Sounds like it's going to be tough to quilt thru.

I also have a suggestion. On your second block (the demo one), I think it would look fantastic if you fussy cut the smallest diamonds. I think it would make a great kalidescope (sp) like pattern.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I'm watching for the pp pattern.

Arleners 05-02-2011 07:25 PM

Wow! thanks for working that out. It is a beautiful block!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I'm watching for the pp pattern.

There is such a small area that actually has all three layers you would be surprised. Plus I used a lightweight fusible so its not hard to sew thru.

Thanks,

I have hand appliqued through 3 layers of fusible...hard but I was able to do it. I have machine quilted through 8 layers of fusible and had no problem whatsoever. Both were wall hangings though. I don't know if I would want to use that much fusible on a full sized quilt.

I never had a problem with my needles getting gummed up and I use the heavy-weight Pellon.

SYLVIA HACKE 05-03-2011 08:09 PM

i will be adding this one to my to do list, that was a nice tut, very clear on the directions. thanks bunches
