Did you have to wash the fabric to get out all of the finishes before doing this?

looks great. now soak it it white vineger. you could have added the vineger when dying. the vineger helps set the die and it wont fade nearly as bad.

I heard that Red Rose tea gives you a pinker shade than the other brands. Don't know but would be worth a try.

Corky, thank you for this tip. I used it today, I had some white fabric that was too white, so I used coffee to tone it down, worked perfect, turned out perfect color, now I am sewing the quilt together. Yeah!

You might like tea dyed fabric if you use a genertic brand of tea rather than a name brand because the color comes out a different hue--not so "reddish."
