I see so many questions from newbies asking how to have a perfect point on their stars.....here's what I do. I hope it helps you all! BTW - sorry about the 1st picture -- I had the camera setting wrong....and thought it would be okay. :mrgreen:
Sorry - had the wrong setting. This shows the front of my "star"...Make sure you have 1/4" from the tip of the star to the edge. [ATTACH=CONFIG]144218[/ATTACH] This intersection is the point of your star. Make sure it's 1/4" from the raw edge. [ATTACH=CONFIG]144219[/ATTACH] This is how it will look on the right side. [ATTACH=CONFIG]144221[/ATTACH] Sew across your seam....Do not sew on either side of that point. This is the critical piece of making a perfect point [ATTACH=CONFIG]144222[/ATTACH] |
I like your tutorial! To add to that, if I may, another trick is to stay just a thread width away form that point. Really helps make that corner crisp.
