I haven't layered etc; yet as I am waiting to get some pure cotton wadding, on Monday, as our Hospitals are so hot.

Sorry to hear you have to have surgery soon. Wishing you speedy recovery. I love your color and fabrics choices. Really lovely quilt top. Could you show photos of a few of the blocks uncut? I have tried to figure out the individual blocks but I get a bit confused.

If you search this forum there are loads of links and tutorials on this wonderful pattern, but I am attaching one of my favourite patterns that I teach my newbie quilters with as is is so clear and easy to understand IMO.

An Idea for sure to send in to Fons and Porter if you haven't already. IF they use your idea you will get a year's worth of their mag free. Hooray for this wonderful idea. I am going to use it.

I have cut thin muslin at 6" strips and done crazy quilting on it for borders. Works great. Never thought of strip piecing though.

How do you remove the paper when finished?

When you sew on paper, set your stitch length to more stitches per inch and the paper will be perforated so it tears off easily. Don't tear it off until you are ready to use it. The paper is there to stabilize the odd shapes where there might be bias edges. Keeping the paper on the back until you sew it to your other pieces, you will be able to maintain the shape. If you fold the paper it also aids in removing it.
