Absolutely exquisite....can't wait to try this...I've used the bias tape but really like the looks of this....thanks for sharing...

OHSue 03-29-2011 09:07 PM

Thanks so much, your tutorial is great. I can see that this would lend itself to lots more designs than using the bias. It looks much more like actual stained glass. I really like using stained glass patterns, I have a few books of these and I will be getting them out, they were much to hard of a design for me when I learned to do stained glass, but great for this.

Your tutorial is great. Never thought to use yarn to outline designs. Great!

klarina 05-10-2011 09:43 AM

great tut.

The effect of the black yarn over the fabrics is stunning.

thanx

What a fantastic idea! I've done stained glass with bias tape and I've done yarn couching on art quilts but never thought to combine the two techniques so THANK YOU!!! Also great idea to FMQ first so you can travel between the pieces - anything that avoids sewing in ends is great with me!

PS Sorry was so excited I forgot to say how beautiful your work is! :-D

I'm new to stained glass quilting but didn't like the bold lines of the bias tape in the center. Your tip on the use of yarn is great and will use it. Your work is beautiful! Wish I had the confidence to paint my design......not there yet, but some day :). Would love to see more of your work. You can email me if you have time to share. Many thanks!

quiltbea 09-29-2012 10:06 AM
