I buy pretty much all my material from connecting threads. Not only are the colors really true to the picture, but they give yu a little extra when they cut. also free shipping after $50. and who has any problem buying $50.?

That is the first thing we learned when we took sewing in 4-H club. We made a skirt without a pattern. Boy that brings back a lot of memories...

I was taught the selvage end thing too (holding it so it hangs straight), and had heard about "pulling a thread." But I had never seen it done. Thank you so much for giving this ol' girl another new trick.

You rock. Thanks for the information. I had always hear about doing this, but didn't know how.

Very good job explaining this. Like so many other posters, I also learned to do this as a first step in Home Ec. class!

I have a Pfaff sewing machine and the even feed foot is on the machine and they use it as a marketing idea. My machine is over 15 yrs old and they are on their machines today. Love my machine. I did buy a "big Foot" for free motion quilting. Your Quilting store could tell you where they are available. There are other names for them I am certain.

Not me!

Surprise! I just went to the kitchen for a glass of water and found a box from Connecting Threads. DH did not tell me I had a pkg. It's so exciting to open a box of fabric. I always forget what I order.
