I don't see why not, the only thing I would say is that with the 6" squares that I used, the hanging was rather stiff but maybe with bigger squares...

I'm about to try this method on my Puffin quilt. 4 years ago we went to Alaska, I bought some Puffin fabric, and had a complete quilt cut out. Then I was in a car accident, and though I've retained the knowledge needed to continue making quilts, and I've adapted my machine sewing to my abilities, I did not look forward to adapting my handwork. This is the answer! It is the first quilt attempted after the accident and in my new sewing room.
