Ok, I am new to quilting, so my dumb question is what is a "pressing sheet" and where can you get one?

Pressing sheet or teflon sheet - you can get them from Joanns ( that is where I got mine) in the aisle with the rolled/ packaged interfacing/ stabilzer . used the 50 % off and it was like 4.50

Sharon, do you use the buttonhole stitch most of the time? I've done a lot of this type of applique with a close zig-zag, but I'm finding I really prefer the finished look of the buttonhole stitch.

Terri I have never been able to get my zig zag stitch to adjust well to do applique so I use the two stitches that I began with the most

Your applique tutorial was great and easy for me to follow. I have been wanting to learn applique for quite some time and feel that by following your directions I have the tools I need to give it a go. Thanks a million.
