USE YOUR WALKING FOOT!!! Stitch on the lines all the way across the quilt, starting with the middle line. Stitch up one line and down the next-that helps keeps things from shifting a bit.
Dumb question and maybe I just haven't had enough coffee yet, but did you actually sew a line every half inch all the way across? Can't wait to try this. Thanks for the tute!

Pinkiris, I marked my quilt because I just didn't trust myself to sew straight enough over this size. If you do, then just go with marking the center diagonal and just sew. On a smaller one I might not mark all the way.
Quilter in the making: yes a half inch all the way across. Still the fastest baby quilt I've ever made! I think I'll try three layers, slash 2, and sew every quarter inch to see what that looks like next!

Sounds doable. Thank you for posting. I am thinking of trying this on a smaller scale, like 20" x 20", just so I can learn the technique first. :-D

Does it matter if the fabric has been prewashed?
