Hmmm... I'm thinking I could just applique the color cutouts onto a black background? Or yellow blender or something...instead of piecing both sets together. Might that work?

Now that's inspiring. I've been wanting to learn applique, this one with the simple lines looks like a good one to start with. Thank you so much for posting. I can't wait to post my finished quilt.
