trouble with sides onhalf hex like me? tip

having made a sailboat quilt and having so much trouble with the sides decided tory again as I love Jenny`s floating hex
first I sand paper dots on hex
scant 1/4 inch
after sewing 2 sections
fold in half opposite and match side seams {yellow pin}
I put 3.5ruler on fold
Mine came out to 7x4.5 unfinished

I really like the half hex ruler but haven't seen one for sale. Where would you buy them.

Nancy's Notions has one but it's plastic with open areas to trace through. I have it and use it. not too bad. I don't mind tracing and then cutting.

I am new at this half hex, this makes no sense to me, I can't figure out what you are saying, no your problem, mine, sometimes I can't get my brain around what people are saying.

Hey, don't beat yourself up about that.....likely just means you are not the "reading" kind of visual learner; perhaps you are more kinesthetic and need someone to show you and let you try it using your own hands.
There are several kinds of "learning" types in this world, not one is "better" than another!
