These blocks are all looking great! It's fascinating to see how different prints make the block look totally different

SulaBug, we too got a bunch of snow...about 14" here and also got the freezing rain? But yesterday the sun actually came out and said "I'm not gone forever, there is hope I will appear again soon", which gave me hope! It's been melting a bit, but wow, we've got huge piles of snow everywhere! It does make sewing more fun for some reason, doesn't it???

Ronda, we finally ended up with 13" inches of the lovely white stuff!! Today the sun is also out here in Yakima & it is so bright & cheerful. I am loving it too, as I am sure everyone else is. Another great day for sewing. I hope everyone else is doing good in this snowy weather.

Yes, you answered my question. I will not be fussy cutting this block.
I cut my fabric Saturday and will attempt my first paper pieced block Sunday.

I am so glad you have your fabric cut & ready to sew together Sunday!! Fussy cutting can just wait until you get the hang of paper pieceing. I wish you the best of Luck & we will be anxious to see your block when you are all done.

My block is finally done. And I'm sending you both, as requested. I really disliked the one that is darker. I was trying to make it like a picture I have of a flower that was blooming in the snow. But didn't turn out at all right. So I made the lighter one. Don't you just love snow days - it allowed me to sew my snowblossom!

They are both pretty, I think. Did you fussy cut the center of the light one? I am plugging away and should have mine done tomorrow.

Andii, The center of the light one is actually a snowflake cut (then hand applique) out of the white fabric. Cut like we did as children.
