This is a fantastic pattern - I've been lurking and enjoying all the conversations and photos. I will definitely be making this one some day. I can't choose my favorite. Thank you Judy for your time and creative ideas.

SuzieQOH, I spent this afternoon working on my sewing/craft room. My daughters gave me 2 6-cube units I plan to be the supports for a cutting table. The table itself will be the old top from my kitchen island. I replaced my counter tops in 2012 & had vague ideas of using the old top for a table. I finally decided how I wanted to do it & my kids bought me the cubes for MD. I rearranged furniture, gave 1 desk to my daughter & cleared a unit I used for storage. That has gone to the curb & I'm glad it’s out. My room isn’t finished but it’s looking better. Prior to all this activity I managed to starch, press, & trim my blocks. They look good & im anxious to join them. Pictures will follow when the top is finished.

I used yardage and ran out of my dark fabric, the one I wanted to use for the borders. So I got what I thought was the same fabric from JA. It's not. Similar pattern, but smaller and not as distinct.

Conchalea- I saw in another thread that you are using some favorite fabric. Can't wait to see it!!!!!! Speaking of cleaning out our rooms, I bought a cutting table from Target and it's going to be delivered today!! Yippee!!
I was using one that hurts my back. This one is adjustable so I can have it higher. Can't wait!

SusieQOH, my ‘new’ table will be the same height as the kitchen island because the cube units are nice & tall. They should fit exactly under lip of the old island too, according to my measurements. I plan to use half of the table for cutting & half for pressing. I have plenty of plywood to make a new pressing board. The only problem-my craft room is the hottest in the house. It’s on the southeast corner, unshaded, so it receives the full brunt of our hot Texas sun in the afternoons. My AC just can’t keep it as cool as the rest of the house. I think the ducts to that room have issues. But the AC unit & furnace went out (1 in 2016 the other in 2017) & I wasn’t able to afford to have all ductwork done at either time. So I’ll have to use that room in the mornings during many months.
My blocks are joined now. I lost some edges when I trimmed the blocks so the secondary pinwheels aren’t as precise I’d like them. Bummer. But overall the top looks great! I decided to use the 3 extra blocks I made as a table runner because they came out slightly larger than the first 9. I have no idea why! But their color blocks didn’t match with the original 9, just with each other. I’ll use the light blue as the backing for that piece & the navy for the quilt. I’ll piece some of the leftover HSTs on that backing because it’s not quite enough by itself.

Conchalea- that's a good height. You'll enjoy it. I hear ya about the heat. We already have our AC going and it's only May. But I'm a witch w/o it
Sometimes my blocks end up different too! Who knows why

Conchalea, we have a house with no ductwork, and though it does not get as hot as Texas, my sewing room would stay over 90 if I did not have AC.

I have the portable units that you exhaust out the window. So when I use it I open the window and close it on the vent, and when I don't need it or it's raining, I take it out and close the window.

In the winter it stores under my cutting table. We have several of these, including one in my LA shed.

I'm about ready to start using it upstairs, it's getting over 80 in the afternoon, and since "the change" I have a real hard time coping with temps over 80. At least it's improved, I use to about die when it got over 70!. At least I live rural so I can run around with almost nothing on at home and not worry about offending anyone!

Macybaby, that’s an interesting unit. I’ll have to check into that for my room. Now that I have it set nicely, I’ll want to take advantage of it. Thanks for the picture.

I have my blocks sewn together and just need to add borders and quilt. This was my first mystery quilt and I enjoyed getting the directions and working on the quilt. Look forward to doing another one sometime in the future.
