Hi SunlitenSmiles, I never thought of that ! Thanks so much... now I feel more comfortable cutting the purple up for the sashing...I really don't have a lot of yellow in the blocks..maybe I'll do them yellow.. Thanks again..Anne

This is my mystery 8 so far. Still need to select final border color to finish the stars. I will go 3 1/2 inches. Maybe navy?..

Love the progression of shades of your sashing colors! Very cool look. Are you going to do a single color for your next border? I think the navy would work great.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do a "finish the stars" border before I add the piano key border to mine or just put the final star points on the appropriate piano key strips. Will most likely just do the piano keys.

turning out great "Wavewatcher" a dark navy like midnight navy would be great or the really dark indigo you liked, that is a tone on tone rather than solid. I think there is a really dark navy 'stonehege' at Candy's ..... everyone already knows we are related, "I am not being bossy, I am only saying this because I love you" <- that is a direct quote from our youngest relative at 2 1/2 yrs.old.

If you're making stars in the border and you want the last border wider than the 2.5"..let's say 4" how do you fit the star in ? I'm trying to figure that out in my head and I can't make sense of it...

it is sorta like snowballing one corner. be sure you are going the correct direction...the border strips measure the same as the side of the block+sashing to which they will be attached.

mine were 14 1/2 inches,..... 12 1/2 for the block and 2 for the sashing
