I just made some coconut, caramel, chocolate fudge and some root beer float fudge. I am about to make some vanilla bean fudge and some maple pecan fudge, then some peanut brittle. This should be enough to put everyone in a sugar high. Can't wait to start the train ride. I keep changing my mind one what to make for the center.

I am waiting for the fudge to cool so I can cut it. I already licked the spoons so I have nearly made myself sick.

We made fudge too! Ours is the hard version, by far my favorite.

I was lazy and let DD do all the cooking. She made peanut butter fudge, divinity, sad cake, peppermint drops, almond bark pretzels, and sugar cookies. For some strange reason we all wanted a nap! Think we sugar high crashed actually.

um what is a 'sad cake'? haven't heard of that one. all that fudge I just gained ten pounds thinking of it. its always fun making stuff the first batch or two house smells so good end of the day.. its horrible and not so fun at all. like if you ever smell sugar again it will be too soon. ever. lol rather cook than bake any day of the week. but those strawberries with chocolate I can do those oh yes I can. get in my belly!

well has Judy posted at all? wonder what is her plan of attack?

Haven't heard anything from Judy yet.
Sad cake is a recipe that was given to my mother years ago. It is like blond brownies, made with Bisquik, eggs, brown sugar and vanilla. It's called sad cake because it puffs up while cooking then falls back down in the middle. Very rich and yummy. The outer edge is all crusty and my favorite part.
