You are very welcome, Mirabelle. I'm learning a lot doing this FWSQ (learning the hard way, mostly) and hope to figure out a few more shortcuts before I'm done.

Seriously, though, you work is PERFECT! I am amazed by your work so many times!

I can tell you work now, just scrolling through the pics threads, if I come across an absolutely perfect block, I'll say I bet that's Honchey, and sure enough it is!

OMG! Did you guys see the new book on Lauries blog! Its going to be awesome!

    Here's a link I made to it:

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-64174-1.htm

Its going to be essays from kids! In 1915, the Farmers Wife magazine ran a contest for kids to win a pony, and from what she has on her blog, the stories are great!

    I know! (squeals like a little girl!LOL!)

I cant' wait to see it all.

She said that she would include more stuff that we asked for it this one, and she sure did it, didn't she?!

I've got to post my blocks, I'm caught up now except for the last one, and cut out just needs sewn.

I've just been too lazy to post them

I met a new member on here in chat last night that's already made one FW! She said she was going to join us in this one, too, and she was going to post pics of her completed one, but I forgot her name!

So, if you are reading this, mystery woman, please post so I can pm you!LOL!

Stefanie, Do you remember that I told you that I was trying something different with the piecing and paper templates? It works like a charm. It does take more work in the beginning but it's almost worry free. I copy the templates of all the pieces I need in a block onto freezer paper--I then cut them rough cut and press onto the fabric-then I trim to size-the seam allowance is included- I sew the pieces together, paper and all. when I have to join another section I will remove the paper from the intersection so that I don't have to pick it out later and the seam that is folded under has to ber removed.also. I just pieced block #15 and there was no stretching of all the bias sides. I have taken photos to show. If you thought my blocks were good before--Watch Out!!! They will even be better doing it this way! :XD: :XD:

    backside w/paper corners removed

    every piece lines up perfectly
