    Here's Lady. I'm not going to make Katherine at this time. I'm not fond of the pattern.

    Oh I love your red fabric, some of the blocks are tough, I hate Y seams.

    Pam, haha! My thoughts exactly, when I saw this fabric. I got it in a 5" charm swap and only ever saw just my 5" charm. The swapper had fussy cut the motif to the middle of the fabric. For this block, I had to cut the center piece in the corner of the charm, then used the rest of it for the other pattern pieces. I did seam one of the pieces, in the corner you can see the tip I sewed on, but still there wasn't enough, so I added a little plain red for the other pattern pieces, which was a good match to the background red of the print.

    Here is my substitution for Katherine. My husband gave me violets for Valentine's Day this year, so this block will remind me of that when I see it in my quilt. It's by Linda Worland at www.paperpanache.com.

    I'm soooo glad to be halfway-- at 50 blocks! Even if I stopped here, I'd have a lovely batch of blocks for a quilt.
