    you could always look for a doxie rescue near you. that's how I got Chip and he's purebred. he was picked up as a stray. mutts are pretty cool too.

    Wonderful idea..give a good home to a rescue and get lots of love in return.

    I've had purebred and mixes from rescue Susie. Rescues are the best dogs ever!

    Oh I agree! I've always had rescues. Wouldn't have it any other way. Same for my kitties

I have dachshund mixes and I laugh because they are not one of my favorite breeds but somehow I ended up with 2 and numerous holes in my yard as a result. I love to hear about people rescuing dog. I am a firm believer in saving animals from your local shelter. Petsmart also has a program for cats they get from shelters and adopt out through their store that's doing well in our area
