    Lots of these shows have turned into direct sales shows..as in Tupperware, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef 31 Bags, etc. I like to look but rarely need-want anything. I used to buy at craft shows back in the early 1990's when I had my house....and put nic nacs on sheves etc. Now I have purged tons of that stuff. Less is more. Must be my age. Tire pd of "stuff" and clutter.

    I only do a few shows a year. I've weeded out the ones that aren't worth my time. Kitchen items draw a lot of interest as gifts... aprons, pot holders, towels, microwave bowl holders. I sell a few kid's quilts but at rock-bottom prices. I did pretty well this fall/Christmas season, but those shows are a LOT of work.

    It could just be the economy. Our business is WAY down and people here are not spending money like they usually do. I was in a store just last week that is usually packed this close to Christmas and there were very few people there.
