Yep, I feel like I am being hypnotized ... my eyelids start getting very heavy. I usually wake with a jolt, too.

Didn't know fibromyalgia might contribute to the cause as someone suggested. I'll have to ask my doc that next time I see her. I tend to blame everything on the weather, being up too late, arthritis ... guess I discount too many things in dealing with Fibro. But it does require a lot of energy to fight the fibro and stay functional so I suppose it could be part of the cause.

I have done this at home and sadly some times at work-then I but wake myself up as my head falls forward. When it happens at work I know I'm not getting enough sleep.

That's one of the first indications when my thyroid is out of whack and time to check to see if my medication needs to be adjusted.

I would say you had better see a Doctor. You may have sleep apnea. I found out about three years ago that I had it. Everytime I sat down in my chair I couldn't stay awake. The CPAP mask I wear at night has made a world of difference as far as my energy level goes. Go see your Doctor and tell him what is happening.
