Hi: I was just reading another thread where Barbus (?) had just returned to the Quilt Board after having been off for awhile due to knee surgery. All the comments were made by all of us and when I got to the bottom of the 2nd page I noticed (again) that there was an AD for info about knee replacement surgery. Another time awhile back I was reading a thread and the subject of the thread had another such advertisement or info site where we can click for more info....

Isn't modern technology amazing? How did we ever live all those years without this instant information system at our finger tips? I'm amazed everytime I do an e-mail or look up an answer for my DH's crossword puzzle and have the answer instantly or as I write this exact note within minutes thousands of people from all over the world will see it, read it and (many of you) will go check the threads to see what the AD's or links are on any particular topic...amazing!

Me too but this morning seeing the knee replacement ad got me to thinking there is some little "Info Troll" sitting in the background and waiting to send a pop out message to us to let us know there is info available. Now I'm taking notice! Someone has great marketing savvy...show it enough and people notice.

I noticed when I respond to stuff that they have ads for Boston blocks. I wonder if it is catching key words.

Nope! I have Ad Muncher to keep that junk off my screen. Though I read somewhere that you can set the latest versions of the Internet Explorer browser to filter out ads. Haven't figured out how yet, though.

I noticed that months ago--the ads are for whatever topic is discussed on that page--try the horse pages.

I'm sure you're right about the key words but I think I'll just continue to think there is an "Ad opportunity TROLL" living in my machine.
