Have you ordered online again with Connecting Threads?

Yes, it was Connecting Threads, Knit Pick and their other "sister" company that sells art supplies. I forget the name since I don't buy from that one but I sure did from the first two.

I got rid of Discover and use only a local bank credit card online. I haven't had any problems since. Discover is too free with customer information as I found out when I had my Discover card ID taken over and changed.

I had the problem with Fabric Depot and their response was great. (I didn't know they were the reason for my credit card replacement as the bank won't say.) Then, last week, I had THAT replacement card replaced!! I did order from CT, but it was BEFORE either card was replaced. Dunno what's going on. I do think I'll get an account just for online orders and keep the limit low.

My boss's PayPal has been hacked 3 times already. I know everyone thinks this is the safest way to go - but, I'm not so sure. I called to have my credit limit reduced (was flabergasted when I saw what my limit was!) - I wanted it to be $500.00. I was on the phone for 40 minutes trying to accomplish this - it's the first time the girl ever had this request she said usually they are requesting an increase.

I am not familiar with Discover's one time use card #. Can you explain?

I just go into my discovercard.com and click on "manage account" and "secure on-line purchases". It will ask you to enter your log-in info and then takes you to a small screen that says "generate secure account #". Each time you do this you can create another "secure" account number that is tied to your account, but the number itself can only be used one time or with one vendor. I have generated separate account numbers for any recurring payments as well as for certain vendors I frequently do business with. I keep a log, so if my account is hacked I know where it came from. I was recently hacked thru I-tunes, so trust me I know. Discover was amazing, I had a new card in the mail the next day and all was well. That's when I decided to get separate account #s for things just like this. If you are hacked, you don't need to get a new account # because only the account listed (which is not your actual #) can be de-activated and your account remains intact.

I ordered from Connecting Threads two weeks ago and received the order yesterday. I refer to it as the mother load. They were having a sale on fabric. $3.14 yard, I'm not kidding. I read here the fabric and the thread was good so I placed an order and paid using paypal. I have never had my paypal account hacked in over ten years.
The fabric and thread do not disappoint. I have been working with them today and I'm very pleased. The only thing about the transaction I had was I placed the order at night, called the next morning less than 8 hours of placing the order and they couldn't add to the order. I wanted more yardage of three different colors I had orginally ordered. I had already qualified for the free shipping limit on the first order. To order the additional yardage I would have to pay shipping although the first order was placed less than 8 hours before I called. It took them 5 days to process my orginal order. It seems they could have added to the order within 8 hours since it took them 5 days to process it.
Either way, the fabric and thread I received I'm pleased with.
