Unhappy HP printer ink discontinued?

The only connection this has with quilting is that I print all the patterns I find on line, but I have been forced recently to see that HP is no longer manufacturing ink for my inkjet printer. These particular cartridges, HP74 and HP75, are used by many, many printer models, and I cannot think why they would stop making them. They have 'fixed it' so the refilled cartridges usually will not work and no amount of trying work-arounds helped enough, so I reluctantly went back to paying the exorbitant cost of HP ones.

Am I supposed to be happy enough about this that I go out and buy another HP printer? Or is there some other reason these are discontinued that I just don't know about?

I hope you're wrong as I have a HP printer that uses HP63 and my sister uses HP62. My old HP printer used HP564 which was hard to find and more expensive than normal. I've found printer are now going for less than $100 and a lot for around $50. Just another way for these companies to keep us under their thumbs I guess.

Try LD Products. They sell remanufactured printer cartridges on line. That is where I buy my Hp 450 ones from for my laser printer. I have ordered from this company for years.

I had a Cannon with me problem. So I feel your frustration.

I bought a HP OJ 4650 to replace it, which uses HP63.

Are they not making ink at all or just that number.

HP themselves carry those, as do Amazon, Staples, Best Buy, and many others.

I can still get the cartridges, but they are no longer being manufactured, so soon they will be even more expensive as they become more scarce. I am just wondering why this is happening.

I would contact Hewlett-Packard and ask. Sometimes that information is just rumors. I’ve found customer service for the most part at HP helpful and friendly
