I have also heard that if you put a pencil under your butt cheek and it stays, then your butt is too big

I don't need to test with a pencil to check on the size of my butt. I know it's large.

If you question the thyroid problem, have them run the full thyroid scan...not just the tsh. I first two times they ran the tsh I was in the normal range, when they ran the full thyroid panel I had a full blown goiter. They were very concerned that I would have a thryoid storm. At 35 I had a throyoidectomy. My neighbor thought since I was so young using the radioactive iodine might have some problems for me later since I have a family history of cancer. Turns out he was right. Last September I had my second bout of breast cancer.. This time it was invasive....I had both chemo and radiation. I just take my thyroid pills every day....

    It must be true.
    I have hypothyrodism and
do not have hair beyond pencil.

A natural food store person told a friend of mine
she had thyroid problem before she was tested
because of a crease that goes all the way across
    the neck.

That must be true also - have that too.
But my Doc said she had never heard of it.

No one suspected that I had hyperthyroid when I became thyrotoxic because I am fat. Perhaps I should have known of Dr Oz's method and saved years of ill health and anxiety. The pencil test would have been accurate enough.
