Whooa! that is a little on the high side. Mine is a hand me down from a couple of little old ladies, sisters, that were in their 80's. That was over 40 years ago. It is wellllll used still.

Me, too, and I think I paid $35 or $40 for it.

Glad I don't have to purchase one any time soon. Of course you can always shop thrift stores and yard sales.

Hey, I use a reliable iron and just love it. Has good weight without being to heavy and adjustable steam. I would bet it is an ironing board that would last several lifetimes. I like Reliabe products and I am not affiliated with them in any way except for using their product!

I would check out thrift stores. You are more likely to find an older, more steady ironing board. I bought mine for $5 at Goodwill and it is made with thicker metal...think ironing board from the 50-60's...and is much sturdier than any new one!

My husband spotted a beautiful antique solid oak ironing board and bought it for me so that I would have one upstairs in my sewing room. He paid 35.00 for it. My other board is also an antique. They are very sturdy and I find being a short person that these are just the right height for me. The newer ones seem to be too high.
