Default Question for Mod Podgers ..thanks!

Hi All, my first love is quilting but I have just started Mod Podging a few things like refrigerator magnets, pictures on tile and some things to hang on the kitchen wall. It is fun, but my question is what kind of acrylic sealer would you use over Mod Podge? I heard Mod Podge is a glue and sealer but read that on some things it would be good to use a sealer. I have about twenty things done but nothing totally done because of the sealer issue. When I check online some say you don't need a sealer and others do use it. Just thought I would see if anyone was experienced with it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

I think that Bonnie Hunter has a link on her site to a modge podge sewing machine case. I am not sure which section it is in. Check the tabs on her www.quiltville.blogspot.com

I have never used a sealer on things I modge podge. I try and avoid getting them wet so have never had any trouble.

You don't need to seal anything unless you plan on making coasters. They need to be sealed, because the glass might sweat. Then you just use polyurethane.

I haven't gotten around to Mod Podge yet, but here's what I think FWIW.

Sealing means protection against water. If the item will not come into contact with liquids (e.g., frig magnets), you can skip sealing if you want to. Mod Podge is not completely waterproof so, if your item might come into contact with water (e.g., coasters) you want to waterproof with an acrylic sealer.

Found this FAQ that might be helpful
    http://modpodgerocksblog.com/learn-how-to-mod-podge
and here is the acrylic sealer that is recommended if you want to make your Mod Podge item waterproof:
http://www.plaidonline.com/mod-podge...70/product.htm (But, you don't want to use a spray sealer indoors. The FAQ above recommends a brush-on sealer if you are working indoors.)
