    I second the light-on-a-timer idea, and also suggest you move your alarm clock across the room, so you have to get out of bed to turn the darn thing off. That's what I ended up doing.

    Wow! I didn't know those existed! That might be the thing for me! . I become immune to alarms pretty quickly and can easily get out of bed, walk across the room to hit snooze, and fall right back to sleep...many times.

    I'm following this thread. I'm also interested in the alarm clocks that mimic sunrise.

    Yes, I have one. Since I retired I don't use it anymore, but I liked that it came on gradually, like the sunrise. It didn't just "pop on". I would think using a timer would put the lamp straight on full?
